Stay motivated with work lists!
Working from home is amazing, right up until your cat spills the coffee cup all over your laptop or family members start distracting you all the time. In the last year and a half, remote work became a necessity instead of a luxury for many professionals.
Right now, after the correct procedures have been put in place, workplaces are embracing remote work options more than ever before. Let’s address the challenges you might have so you can fully benefit from remote work.
So, what should you do to make it easier to work from home?
Morning routine
When you work from the office, you wake up in the morning, get dressed, have a cup of coffee, and go to work. Since you’re now working from home, you might be tempted to sleep in. But what if you create a new morning routine? Do errands? Or chores? Start a new Netflix series?
Respect schedule
Create a schedule for yourself and don’t postpone work by spending hours on TikTok during the day. While working late at night occasionally can help you get ahead in your career, doing so regularly can harm your work-life balance and your mental health.
Plan ahead
Make sure all your roommates, family members, and cats respect your space during work hours. Ask and you shall receive. If you share space with someone else, lay ground rules about how both of you can use the space you have, which are the meeting times and quiet times.
Stop distractions
If you’re already in motion, you’ll stay in motion. At home, motivation can swing very easily. And when you’re at rest, you’ll stay at rest. Shut off social media notifications during work hours. This way, you’ll be able to complete everything that you wanted.
Take breaks
It’s easy to get caught up in work and avoid breaks altoghether. Don’t assume that you need to work all the time to be more productive. Get away from your desk whenever you finish a couple of tasks. Go for a walk, enjoy the fresh air and give snacks to your cat when coming back home.
Be your best remote self!
Whether you’re working from home a few days per week or full time, it’s important to ensure that you are set up to be productive.
